Joining Troop 234 is EASY:
- Be a boy who is 11 years old, or one who has completed the fifth grade, or one who has earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, but is not yet 18 years old.
- Contact Scoutmaster Dan Estabrook (“Mr. E”) via phone or text at (805) 312-3330, or email@example.com.
- We will then help you complete a Boy Scout application and health history signed by your parent or guardian.
That’s all it takes to become a Boy Scout and join our troop! You do that, and we’ll take care of the rest!
If you are not yet 11 years old, or has not completed the fifth grade, we strongly recommend joining the outstanding Pack 3234, the Cub Scout pack affiliated with our troop. It ill provide super preparation, and it will enable your son to bridge over to our troop just as soon as he is eligible. Please contact Mr. Scott Smith for more information.
For girls and young women
If you are or know a young lady who would be interested in the BSA program, great news! The BSA program is opening to young women in 2019! There will be a BSA Troop for young women in this area that will be separate from but affiliated with Troop 234. As currently planned, there will be gender-appropriate program leadership (Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters) and a Troop Committee made up of BSA veterans able to ensure the quality of the program and leadership. This approach and affiliation will enable entire families to be involved with scouting. Until the unit is formed, Troop 234 is taking expressions of interest and pre-registrations on behalf of the new troop. If you are (or know) a young lady between 10 and 17 who might be interested, or if you are interested in helping to serve as a leader or a committee member, please contact Troop 234 Committee Chairman David Wolf at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
